Zipline in the NC Mountains

Have you ever wanted to step outside your private mountain cabin and go ziplining — all without having to drive into Boone or Asheville, fight for a parking space, and dodge the crowds? Now you can.

Guests at Changes in Altitude can now zipline right from the Leatherwood Mountains community. The new zipline at Leatherwood Mountains in Ferguson, NC will have you soaring through the Blue Ridge Mountains while you take in the stunning views.

The brand-new canopy adventure course features two suspended bridges and six ziplines, with the longest line spanning over 1,200 feet. The experience begins with a short hike to the top of a mountain ridge and from there you’re adrenaline will be pumping.

Additional Leatherwood Mountains zipline information:

  • 3 sessions each day, Friday through Sunday.

  • Each session is limited to 6 people to ensure a fun, more private experience.

  • From check-in to check-out, the entire experience lasts approximately two hours.

  • Children and adults are welcome.

  • 250 lb weight limit per rider.

  • Appointments are required.

The best part? When you’re finished, you can head back to Changes in Altitude (again, no traffic) and take in a gorgeous sunset and mountain views from the hot tub.

Whether you're a seasoned zipliner or are taking the leap for the first time, Leatherwood Mountains has you covered. We invite you to stay at Changes in Altitude, have some fun ziplining, and enjoy the island attitude with the high country altitude.
